2 issued patents to co-founders, Erico Mattos, Ph.D. and Ryan Hunt, MS on plant biofeedback.  We have developed the world’s only operating plant biofeedback devices.

2 issued patents on a low-cost plant fluorometer. Granted to co-founders Erico Mattos, Ivan Kruglak, and UGA researcher, Prof. Mark Heidekker.

Team 

The Grow-Ray team is composed of plant physiologists, electrical engineers and LED lighting experts who have more than 30 years of combined experience in photobiology, LED lighting and controls. Beyond a lighting and technology company, the Grow-Ray community offers strategic solutions to maximize production yield in horticultural applications. Grow-Ray is ​science-based and constantly developing ​useful technology and bringing better solutions to its c​lients.

Mark A. Smith

Interim CEO

Mark A. Smith, a securities/business law attorney, has over 30 years of experience running and assisting private and public start-up/early-stage companies.  He began working with G​row-Ray in early 2018 and assumed a senior management role during Summer 2018.

Ivan Kruglak

Cofounder/CTO

Ivan Kruglak, CEO of PhytoSynthetix, is an electrical engineer with a professional career as an entrepreneur and inventor. He’s responsible for the successful development of over 50 separate products, from idea to execution and commercial production. Ivan founded and later sold two successful companies in the field of electronics. He has received two Academy Awards for Technical​ Achievements in the motion picture industry .

Jeff Hohensee

COO

Jeff Hohensee specializes in operationalizing and scaling world-changing ideas. At Heller Financial he implemented e-strategies that took days of float off Fortune 100 companies' cash flow. At Natural Capitalism Solutions Jeff built a consulting practice that guided profitable sustainability initiatives and implementation of breakthrough innovations for corporate clients representing 3% of U.S. GDP.

Donovan Warnick

Vice President of Strategic Sourcing

Donovan's focus is on planning, development, and commercialization of new products. Over 17 years of functional and consulting experience in research and development and manufacturing strategy within the electro-mechanical manufacturing industry. Excellent working knowledge of product realization and requirements definition.

Pat Adamson

Design Director

After serving in the United States Air Force for four years as a Nuclear Tech, Pat Adamson worked at the University of Colorado for the next 12 years as Project Engineer at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, Bioengineer at the CardioVascular Pulmonary Laboratory at the CU Medical Center, and Director of the Instrument Development Laboratory in Electrical Engineering.  Pat has over 30 patents to his credit.

Ryan Hunt

Cofounder / Biophysicist

Ryan Hunt is a biophysicist by training and holds a Master’s Degree in Biological Engineering. ​He has conducted research on LED-based grow lighting systems for optimizing photosynthesis and has a vast knowledge of ​plant science and living systems.  He is also a cofounder of Algix, a bioplastics company making algae-based polymers.
